For Leagues not using the Sports Connect Platform, Little League recommends utilizing the JDP QuickApp, which allows local league volunteers to complete their own volunteer application and background check on a secure site separate from the player registration process. Leagues must still verify that the information on the Little League Volunteer Application is correct by reviewing the potential volunteer’s government-issued photo ID.

This process works for a league that is still using the paper form of the Little League Official Volunteer Application. This process is not recommended because of the sensitivity of volunteer’s SSN. This should only be used if a potential volunteer cannot access a computer.

The JDP QuickApp solution allows leagues to simply upload basic information (name and email address) for volunteers to complete their own the background check. All personal information is secured inside the JDP environment with no other sensitive, personal information released or visible to any third party.

If you have access to the Little League Data Center under “Submit Background Checks.” There is a section that states how many checks have been completed for the current season.
